25 November 2008 : Tinci Tamba

Today was sunny, although there were a few clouds in the sky. I went with Steph to do more habitat characterization stuff, and on the way the gorund was dry and algae turned to crackling. The crabs were really abundant today, even managed to spot some Uca coarctata and Uca vomeris by the riverbank (in mudflats) and even some at tree number 19 by the fringe.

I also managed to catch some sesarmids that I've never seen before in other habitats, they were huge! One of them (blue-light pink carapace) I spotted eating an Onchidina so thanks to that I now have a new hypothesis in mind! Wahey! It's a really awesome day besides the huge amount of work that faced us.

We did manage to do 10 trees today by the fringe (12-21) and finished work at 6 pm. Tinchi is a bizarre site, the first day after the storm the sites were completely flooded. Just today though, the tides behaved and everything went well. On the way back, saw a mob of kangaroos (yes, a mob... :D )
